Warplanes at Shannon
Yesterday (October 9th) there were at least 3 US warplanes at Shannon Airport.
US Navy Hercules C130J arrived 2 days ago at about 04.30am coming from Naval Air Station New Orleans, Louisiana. It stayed two overnights and took off again today 9 Oct. about 12.00 noon heading SE towards the Middle East.
US Navy C40 number 16-5831 arrived about 02.26am coming from the same Naval Air Station New Orleans, Louisiana. Both of these aircraft are designed and equipped to transport US military cargo or US troops.
Omni Air N819AX on contract to the US military arrived on 9 Oct about 04.30am coming from Fort Worth Dallas TX. It took off again about 12.30pm heading SE towards the Middle East. More on their destinations later.
This is just one of the reasons why the protest at Shannon Airport this weekend is important. The first one begins at 1pm on Saturday 12 October. The other is at 2pm on Sunday 13th.
The number of Palestinians killed, or who died as a result of the ongoing genocide in Gaza, since October 2023, may be in excess of 100,000 and the US military have been playing a very active part in this genocide. Therefore, there are over 100,000 reasons to protest at Shannon Airport.
