Shannonwatch will hold their monthly peace vigil at Shannon Airport on Sunday October 13th at 2pm. Please join us at the usual location (small roundabout on the way into the airport) to demand that the US use of the airport is ended immediately.

The use of the airport by the US military is unacceptable given the supply of weapons to Israel from the US. We know that some of those weapons have gone through Irish airspace, and that US military and diplomatic flights to Israel pass through Shannon. And we know that those flights are never inspected.

Now more than ever it’s vital that the Irish government stops allowing flights that may be complicit in the genocide in Gaza to come through Shannon or through Irish airspace. Words are not enough from Simon Harris. He needs to take action NOW to ensure Ireland is not supporting the Gaza genocide or the deadly Israeli attacks on Lebanon. And one of the first actions needs to be to get the US military out of Shannon.

On Saturday October 12th, another protest against the US military use of the airport will take place at Shannon. Now more than ever we need as much focus as possible on Shannon’s involvement in the Gaza genocide, and so we welcome this protest too.
