Omni Air N207AX - A busy warplane

This Omni Air troop carrier (N207AX) has been employed fulltime for the past several weeks ferrying armed US troops between the USA and the Middle East and back. Here it is landing at Shannon today (Dec 5th), having come from Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha Nebraska.

A few days ago, on December 1st, it was also photographed by Shannonwatch at Shannon (see below). The day before that it had visited Robert Gray Air Force base and then Louisville, Kentucky before flying to Shannon. And from Shannon it went on to Kuwait.

Before that (November 27th) it was at Guantanamo.

Here's what it has been doing over the last 5 days:

The US milirary call sign (CMB) is switched on and off, possibly depending on when there are troops on board. But there is no doubt about what it is doing - it is bringing troops to and from forward operating bases from which they are deployed into warzones. Most of the wars were caused, at least in part, by the US to begin with. And now they are sending their young men and women out, through Shannon,  to kill and be killed in those wars.

Little has changed since the war "to end all wars" 100 years ago.
